Privacy summary
Campvera does not require an account. Your trips, favorites, reviews, packing lists and profile are stored locally on your device using SwiftData. Location access is optional and used only to find campsites near you and show distances. Photo access is used only if you choose to attach photos to reviews you write. Nearby service layers (fuel, water, groceries and more) query OpenStreetMap with your map area. When you use Ask Vera with an AI provider enabled, your question and relevant trip context are sent to that provider's API. Subscription status is handled by RevenueCat and Apple. Does Campvera require an account?
No. Campvera works without creating an account. Your trips, favorites, packing lists and profile are stored locally on your device.
Where does Campvera's campground data come from?
Campvera uses official data from Recreation.gov (RIDB) and the National Park Service (NPS). Availability, fees, regulations and closures should always be verified with the official source before traveling.
Does Campvera work offline?
Some features are designed to work with cached data, but live campground search, weather and NPS enrichment require an internet connection. We recommend downloading offline maps before heading into areas with limited coverage.
Does Campvera track my location?
Campvera only accesses your location if you explicitly grant permission, and only to find campsites near you and show accurate distances. You can revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings.
How does Ask Vera work?
Ask Vera is a context-aware camping assistant. When an OpenAI key is configured, it can use GPT-4o-mini to generate helpful, structured responses. Otherwise it falls back to a local knowledge base. It only uses the trip context you already have in the app.
What is the Ready Score?
Ready Score is a preparation metric that evaluates your trip planning progress — packing completeness, weather awareness, task completion and more — and shows where you can improve before leaving.
